Yes. Most guests ride with an easy rider — an experienced local driver — so you just enjoy the views. Self-riders get full safety gear (helmet, pads, poncho) and a guide leading the group the whole way.

Only if you choose Self-Riding: Vietnamese law requires a valid international driving permit with a motorbike rating. Vietnam only recognises IDPs issued under the 1968 Vienna Convention with stamp A & A1. Police will also check your physical home country license, which must clearly show A & A1 as well.

Your Motorbike Group Tour price includes a dorm bed every night in family-run homestays along the loop — clean bedding, hot showers, and the most social atmosphere on the mountain. If you would rather not share, you can add a private room for the whole trip when you book; anyone without a room simply stays in the dorm.

Yes — that is exactly how it works. On the booking page you add private rooms only for the people who want one; everyone else keeps their included dorm bed. It is still one booking and one payment for the whole group, and you all ride together.

Private rooms are priced per room per night for all 3 nights of the loop, and added on top of the package price. On this tour: Private room for 1 person (sleeps 1) — 400.000₫ per night; Private room for 2 people (sleeps 2) — 400.000₫ per night; Private room for 3 people (sleeps 3) — 600.000₫ per night. Pick the room sizes that fit the people who want one — the booking page shows the total before you confirm.

Private rooms along the loop are limited, so we cap how many bookings can hold them on each departure day. Once you add a room on the booking page we show how many are still left for your date; if your date is full you can pick another date or keep the dorm, which is never limited this way.

At Bong Ha Giang Hostel, where you’ll stay before the tour starts, we offer luggage storage where you can leave your bags during the loop. For valuable or important belongings, you can leave them at reception. Just don’t forget to collect them when the tour finishes! :)

We recommend bringing around 1.5–2 million VND for drinks, personal expenses, and souvenirs. ATMs are limited along the loop, and cards aren’t accepted everywhere, so it’s a good idea to bring some cash with you.

All homestays provide towels, but feel free to bring your own if you prefer. Going on the 4-day tour? Swimming is part of the adventure, so don’t forget your swimsuit! 🏊

Yes. Please bring your passport with you, as it may be required for the Ha Giang border permit and during the tour. Also, please check your visa expiry date and make sure it doesn’t expire while you’re on the loop!

You can stay at Bong Ha Giang Hostel, where you’ll meet the team and prepare for your tour. We also offer a free dorm night before the tour starts.

Transport to and from Ha Giang is not included in the package price, so you are free to arrive however you like. If you want us to arrange it, add a pick-up and/or drop-off transfer on the booking page: sleeper buses from around 300.000₫ and cabin (VIP) buses from around 400.000₫ per person each way, from Hanoi Old Quarter, Noi Bai airport, Sapa, Ha Long, Cat Ba or Tam Coc. The night before the loop you also get a free dorm night at Bong Ha Giang Hostel.

Yes. Pick-up and drop-off are chosen separately on the booking page, so you can arrive with us and leave on your own — or the other way round — and combine different places, for example in from Hanoi and out to Sapa.
