On the way you can visit the Lung Tam village which offers a traditional Hmong textile workshop. Yen Minh town is an ideal location for parties (dancing and karaoke). Stop by at one of the lovely homestays for your first night before going on the next day!

Yen Minh – Tham Ma Pass – King’s Palace – Lung Cu Flagpole Point – Dong Van Town, Old Quarter

You will spend all day exploring the Dong Van Karst Plateau geopark, driving through local villages and rocky mountains, and encountering challenging, narrow streets like the Tham Ma Pass or the Chin Khoang pass. If you have time, also visit the Vuong house, the palace of the H'mong king.

Finally, check out the Lung Cu Flagpole Point, close to Vietnam's northernmost point, overviewing the border of its neighbour China.

Dong Van– Ma Pi Leng Pass – Nho Que River– Bao Lac

Explore the Ma Pi Leng Pass – the king of Vietnams passes where you will experience the true feeling of driving narrow roads. After a short trek down to the river, you can do a boat trip on Tu San alley on the Nho Que River, one of Southeast Asia's most spectacular canyons.

Bao Lac – Me Pia Pass – Pac Bo National Historic Site – Ban Gioc

From Bao Lac town, get over the Me Pia Mountain Pass, a 14-story stone slope, and go to the Pac Bo National Historic Site where Vietnam's national hero Ho Chi Minh used to live and work during the war years, the green pearl of the northeast mountains.

Next to it lies a relic complex, where you will admire the beautiful landscapes and can admire the emerald green water of the Lenin Stream. The Cac Mountain Mark is located just above.

Ban Gioc Waterfall – Nguom Ngao Cave – Eye of God - Cao Bang city

Ban Gioc Waterfall which is top 4 of the world's largest transnational waterfalls, located right on the border between Vietnam and China. The waterfall bears a poetic, quiet beauty, mixed with a village atmosphere of the mountainous ethnic minorities.

Then, visit the Nguom Ngao cave (Tiger cave), one of the most beautiful caves in Vietnam, located not far from the waterfalls. The path leads deep into the tall mountain with natural stone sculptures and formations developed over millennials. Return back to Cao Bang.

Cao Bang – Be Be lake

From Cao Bang, you will head to Ba Be National Park, one of the top hundred of the largest freshwater lakes in the world. This takes you approx. 3 hours.
