Your journey begins with a thrilling ascent of Bac Sum Pass, a serpentine road etched into the dramatic landscape of Ha Giang. Reach Heaven's Gate, where a panoramic vista of Tam Son town and the majestic Twin Mountains unfolds before you. Discover the rich cultural heritage of the Hmong people at the Lung Tam textile workshop. As evening falls, Yen Minh town beckons with lively entertainment, from dancing to karaoke. Rest and rejuvenate in a welcoming homestay before continuing your adventure.
DAY 2: YEN MINH - MEO VAC (90KM)
Day two is dedicated to exploring the stunning Dong Van Karst Plateau Geopark. Traverse local villages nestled amongst dramatic rocky mountains, navigating challenging, narrow roads like the Tham Ma and Chin Khoang Passes. The highlight: a drive along the breathtaking Ma Pi Leng Pass, one of Vietnam's most scenic routes. Conclude your day in the charming Pa Vi village near Meo Vac.
DAY 3: MEO VAC - BAO LAC (110KM)
Leaving Meo Vac, your route leads to the majestic Nho Que River. A short trek down to the river's edge sets the stage for a remarkable experience: a boat journey through Tu San Alley. This deep gorge, carved over millennia by the Nho Que, is a true natural masterpiece and ranks among Southeast Asia's most spectacular canyons.
DAY 4: BAO LAC - BAN GIOC (160KM)
Your journey from Bao Lac includes a remarkable feat of engineering: the Me Pia Pass. This 14-story stone slope is a testament to human ingenuity. Explore the nearby relic complex and enjoy the scenic beauty, including the emerald Lenin Stream and the prominent Cac Mountain Mark.
DAY 5: BAN GIOC - CAO BANG CITY (100KM)
Begin your day at the breathtaking Ban Gioc Waterfall, a natural wonder shared by Vietnam and China and ranking among the world's largest transnational waterfalls. Enjoy the tranquil scenery and the cultural richness of the local ethnic minority villages. Next, venture into the depths of Nguom Ngao Cave (Tiger Cave), a subterranean marvel adorned with intricate stalactites and stalagmites formed over millennia. The journey concludes with a return to Cao Bang city.
DAY 6: CAO BANG - BA BE LAKE (125KM)
Your journey from Cao Bang leads to Ba Be National Park, a three-hour drive to a natural wonder: Ba Be Lake. This expansive freshwater lake, one of the hundred largest in the world, is cradled by dramatic limestone mountains. Explore its tranquil waters, dotted with lush islands and hidden caves adorned with beautiful rock formations, by boat or kayak.
